WinMX 3.53 Configuration Script

This site based script is to generate a room hosting configuration file for a WinMX 3.53 chatroom.
Please be aware that this is to be considered an unsecure site. Before using this site I would suggest you use another room name and password and change both (using notepad ) before putting the script in your file .

http://www.mxtools.net/353/config.php
Just save the file it generates in your winmx folder called chcfg<config file number>.txt (where the config number is anything between 1 and 1000) then in your channel type in /loadcfg <config file number> your channel should then be set up.

When opening a channel you can also simply put the channel number in as the room name (eg call the room 100 and it will load config file 100 when it opens) so you dont have to worry about entering the name every time.

Note: This script uses level 150 for admins and sets up commands to give them access to most commands, however it doesn't give them access to commands such as rename the channel and change the topic because most admins dont need this access, if they need this access just give them a level 230 password by adding /mklogin 230 <password> to the bottom of the config file
I have tried it and it works fine :) Thanx MXTools :)

Sounds kind of shady to me, check it out before you use it.

The reason why I issued the warning ADi@/\/TUM is because the site host was responsible for a bot that gathered the same information from its users and sent it back to him..
The configuration file is a txt file and therefore is quiet safe , but handing a password or room name is not a good idea in my opinion.

At the moment the site providing this service has ceased operating it and I have made enquiries asking if they are going to re enable the script.
if the answer is no then I will past a standard room configuration with notes for download to save time setting up a 3.53 room .
please be patient for a week or so . Thanx :)

I didn't know anyone actually used it - guess i should enable the logs on the server again so i can see what people use before chosing what to drop :-)

http://www.mxtools.net/tools/config.php

and as for the comment on MXbot - it didn't gater any info to send back, all it sent up was channel name and bot name so i could see usage patterns to hopefuly improve it. although mxbot has now been dropped and replaced by lettuce which also tastes better :-)

Thanks once more KM . I, m sure you will forgive us all for being careful and erring on the side of caution .
The new progs that you are releasing are rather interesting and I hope you continue along theses lines .
I am in short amazed but pleased that you have put the configuration script back on your site , it is the only one of its kind so it has a welcome place .

I just wish I could get a "bend" that worked on 3.53

If I knew more about programming Storb I,d do it myself its just updating a few links inside the program for most of it .
Bender said he was,nt going to bother with that prog anymore but he has left the source code around if ppl want to do things with it themselves.
shame really but as I,m using 3.31 I dont mind at the moment..lol

ya i know if somebody takes an intrest in bend again, I'm sure it wouldn't take more then a short week to get it running on 3.53

That is the silly part about it a C++ student could do it (I,d let them take a wek coz they need to map the links from RCMS 7 or RoboMx , as you know Frontcode are not very helpful like that..lol). Oh well one day huh .

If there where allready scripts like it all over the place then what would be the point in making anouther one? :-)

(btw, if anyone has any ideas for other little scripts like this for the new "Tools" section on my site...)
