hey people been trying to install winmx after the crash but can't notings happening..

Hi theonlyq, You need to download a patch to reconnect to the new WinMX cache servers either the .dll patch or the PIEPatch.
I would recommend the .dll patch from winmxgroup to reconnect to WinMX again.
The .dll installs WinMX it'll install v3.53 on 98/ME or v3.54beta4 on 2000/XP OS & for people using 2000/XP OS it also has a block list to block the RIAA/MPAA from attacking the WinMX Peer Network with fake files & DOS attacks.
For help & support for the .dll go to winmxworld.
If you want to try the PIEPatch instead you can get it at vladd44's site.

i d/l the patch which you recommeded i stalled it or so i thought i did but its not installed went to check on my control panel and its not installed,i double click on the winmx icon and noting happens..

Did you install in on the right OS there's 2 options when you run the install file 98/ME & 2000/XP/2003.
I checked also if it was in my add/remove progams but it's not in there either,but winmx is installed on my PC & is working.
The uninstall file for winmx is in your programs/winmx folder.
Are you trying to use a old winmx desktop shortcut?If you are go to your programs folder then your winmx folder, right click winmx.exe then click sent to desktop(creat a shortout ). it'll create a new shortcut on your desktop to winmx in your programs folder, then delete the old shoutcut after.

If that doesn't help i'm sorry , you can go to winmxworld's forum and ask for help there you don't have to register to get help if you don't want to, you can post as a guest.

hey done everything by the book but notings happening the program is installed but but noting happens,as far as i know winmx is installed but when i click on the short cut noting happens no winmx window pops up strange i checked everything right OS no old versions of short cuts from desk top so dont know why its not working rather frustrating..

Have you checked the d/l size ?

A few friends told me sometimes the program is'nt d/l properly and does mad things.
If you have it right it should be 1.3 meg and contains 2 mx versions inside.

Let us know if a re-d/l fixes the problem or if not tell us some info about your system so we can help a little more.

hey i just checked the file size is 1.08mgs and theres only 1 winmx in it..im using windows xp pro,norton security dont understand why its not working,everything seems fine i install it it makes a short cut to my desk top but when i click on the winmx icon noting happens no winmx window pops up..

The install file for v1-9 is only 1.08mb?It should 1.35mbs.
Try downloading it again if it's only 1.08mb, the install files size should be 1.35mb.

i have restalled again and again but the file size remains the same 1.08mgs..and i was told there would be 2 versions of mx in that folder but i only have one,i tried downloading limewire its basically not stalling either
the limewire stubstaller just freezes up on me can it be that the probelm lies in me stalling p2p software somehow?
im not really that good at all these technical stuff but it seems that could be the case if so can you guys tell me how i can solve this issue..

hey guess what?!i finally got winmx installed and working!!
i went to my norton security to manually add winmx and from there everything went well its working thanks for all you guiys who helped out man
