Somethings up, I looksd at the task manager and cleared some processes. it was down to 2%. As soon as I move my mouse it skyrockets to 79%, and it does this every time. How can moving my mouse use so much CPU?

Using XP as most will know :D

XP is bad with memory management sometimes, you try runnin scans with adaware and stuffs? the usual? Try and switch to the processes right away to see what skyrockets...

Xp is currently using 0 to 7% of my CPU. I have Azureus running and the normal Windows background stuff. Something may be causing some probs, could be a bad driver, could be some spyware lurking around. Is this on a laptop and is your mouse the little touchpad thing? If so you may want to see if there is a new driver out for it.

I suspect it also has something to do with certain power saving features on your laptop , only switching on certain processes when required, my machine runs about 27-34 processes and is often running at 100% as I make it work hard :D

I've had BNBT running, another server running and Azureus running while burning DVD's and surfing the net with IE and never had my CPU go above 50%.

Seems to be better now, doesn't like my mouse (18% -> 66%) but it is running better.

Thanks everyone :)

I figure the mouse is USB cause its a laptop? Try reinstalling your motherboards USB drivers.

Nope, it's a 7 pin one (Internet Mouse?)
Happens on any though, touchpad, USB, the 7 pin one..
