What worked? the restore point or VLC?

VLC, JC i have formatted twice in about a month i dont think i really need a restore, i cant see much that could have gone wrong really.
you have a theory about the VLC?

You've got messed up codecs. Ha ha 5 minutes is long enough to have to use a restore point. Did you forget that we are talking about windows? I would try a restore point unless you always want to rely on VLC to be your only player. I doubt that you will ever be able to fix those codecs unless a restore point works or you reformat. You can install and uninstall codecs all day long, but I doubt that it will solve the problem. Since you can't play mpg files either it means that the problem goes deeper than just codec packs since mpg will play without having to install any codecs at all. They play as soon as you install windows. VLC has brought its own private collection of codecs. That is my guess as to why it works and nothing else will.

i got a few options on the restiore points i will give it a go as soon as i can, windoes needs 2 shut down 2 do it and i have my room ATM so i cant
i cant remember what day i watched the film so i can restore from there, i spose i can reverse what ever i do so its cool

i have formatted now and everything is cool, they all work like there supposed 2, still aint 2 sure what it was but thanx anyway JC

Cool. Sometimes you never can figure out what goes wrong. Did you try using the restore points?

OMG i was sober whe i typed that and its took me till i was pissed 2 see the mistake, i did'nt format @ all sorry, i did use the restore point, i went back as far as i could which was'nt very far

but it did work yes

even in games Booz?? if its even in the games i think it might have sumtin to do with ur video drivers...have u tried making sure EVERYTHING is up to date?
