i think we all agree that vladd has done an exceptional job for the chat community, and my personal thanks go out to him. being of a suspicious nature i analysed the modified code and i noticed that a few of the old exploit loops where still present."hasleft" ,"#r#N" ,topic...etc.
i have mentioned this to vladd , and he advised me that if a problem did arise the cure was a simple hex edit of the program to rename the offending commands. i have one minor gripe..the #admincmd printuserlist has been removed not sure why?, but once again thanx vladd from all who use the mx chatrooms.

the #\r\n# is cool, we all use that and have fun with it, i dont think any1 will really care about that aslong as the main threat is killed, and vladd has done that,

The admincmd printuserlist and adminprintlist are both pointless and also tend to crash rooms due to a major overflow of text.

h,mm cant say i agree completely with you two on this issue. i find it invaluble to be able to check that the person i,m about to admin is who they say they are. also i have never experienced a collapse of the room due to using the printuserlist. this obviously is a personal choice matter mentioned above with regard to #r#n, the printuser works on the same peice of code ...

we only admin people we know and trust, dont let any tom dick and harry have powers in our room,

it must be coffee time my friend.. as you say nobody gives admin to a stranger. if you know your admins ip address,s and wish to check that it is in fact them you would want to use....? . as i,m sure your aware a user name on its own is no proof of identity.

very true, but we are a clan, and get 2 know ppl before we let them into our clan and give them power, i made and hoted a room which now is split hosted between myself and freez, i had a few problems and the big man stepped up 2 break my fall...

I removed it bc of personal reasons, and it is not unlike me to not consider that many do not run rcms in the manner i do.

However if you have a high volume of traffic and run channel for a long time. It is very common for list to get very buggy. And a printuserlist command can easily crash channel.

Just as a large # of admins can do same thing. And since my channel runs 90+% of the people in channel as admin, well it has been an issue for a long time, so we always remove them.

as far as hasleft, nickname etc, its easy enough to get in twice with nushi to see who is using them. And if there is a problem kick the offending party.

lol, about a year ago we tested autoadmin for everyone on entry. worked well until one disruptive force had to be dealt with. I guess the anarchist concept agreed with me.

If you run IP in greeting, it is easy enough to autoadmin those who are static ips, and who dont frequently change their name.

most thanful for your reasoning on this one vladd. the bot programs are very useful for this type of activity and running the password scheme on the bot has proved very successful. (admin types password from known ip) the golden days of chat are returning....(crosses fingers)
