I was looking on another forum today (Hi Vladd :D ) and noticed this announcement that clears up a mystery room I kept seeing in the listings .
Its from KM the person who runs the Mxtools site .
I'm working on something called MCMA atm, its not finished yet but should be within a week (or two at the most) - I just need to fix a few bugs before release. Its designed for 3.53 channels to add a few features people seem to want that it doesn't have, but will work on 3.31 (although I wont be doing any proper testing more than just running it and see if it crashes straight away)

Basicly the main features are:

1. Coloured Text - The only thing MX is missing (3.53 users only)
2. New Line - This is similar to RCMS's #\r\n# but it posts the users name on the first line, and the text on the lines after that, and you can change the command of course.
3. RTF Block - This is because people complain that there is no RTF host patch for 3.53
4. HideID -A choice of full ID's, half ID's, or no ID's - because ID numbers can be really ugly
5. Redirect - When you kick someone they can be redirected to the room of your choice
6. Adds a /ip command for admins to get a users IP - (now I know people want that one!)
7. Protects from chat attack when used by 3.31 hosts - ( Although its not designed for them really
Hmm well thats the news .. only waiting for the goods now :D .

What about a "redirectban"... redirects troublemakers to a specified room, and also bans them from yours :D

Very wise Freez. I get them and scan the prog and the source code with a disassembler in case he tries his old tricks again but I think he is getting more mature with age and these are interesting progs to play with (quicks crosses fingers ) :) .

when you kickban a user it bans them then kicks them, so they would also get redirected

and i'll just pretend not to have read the other comments :-)

This is the release mentioned a few posts back .

http://mxtools.port5.com/files/mcma.zip

Main Features:
+ *Adds Coloured Text to WinMX Chat Rooms!
+ Blocks the use of RTF in channels (3.31 and *3.53 rooms)
+ Has a NewLine command for multi-line text
+ Adds a #stats command for channel admins
+ Ability to remove ID numbers from users names
+ *Can redirect users to a room of your choice when they are kicked/banned
+ *Admins using Rabbit get all users IP's listed instead of just those that entered after it
* This is the only WinMX addon I know of with this ability

System Requirements:
The ability to host a chat room on WinMX and Windows 2003/XP/2000 (Note: Some users find it works on 2000 others find it doesn't)
How to run
1. Download MCMA from the Download Page, and open the file with WinRAR or WinZip (or any other zip utility).
2. Put the files in your WinMX Folder
3. Close WinMX, and when you want to open WinMX do so using MCMA.exe (instead of the WinMX icon)
4. Open your room as normal
Note: Make sure bandwidth throttles are off BEFORE opening the room

Coloured Text
One of the features in MCMA is the ability to use Coloured Text in chat. I will assume you have the default setting of #c%u# for colours however you can change it to anything in mcma.ini

To colour yout text type the colour code before the text, eg #c1# for white, #c2# for yellow. If you want to use multiple colours in your text you can, just put the code for the new colour in where you want the colour to start, for example:

To put your text as green (colour number 4) use:
#c4#This is Green

To have Green text, then Yellow (colour 2) you could use:
#c4#This is Green and #c2#This is Yellow

For a list of avalible colours type #colour in to the channnel.
Bugs
Bandwidth Throttles MUST be turned off before opening the channel, Bandwidth Throttles will crash MCMA - This is because of the anoying way that WinMX hanndles the bandwidth throttles.

The Settings window is disabled while you have a room open, this is because opening settings to the Bandwidth Throttle page (even if you have throttles off) then it could mess up MCMA, so I decided to disable the Settings window as a precaution.

Multiple Colours in a row will cause text to be lost. If you use a colour change then straight away anouther one without any text in between then a bug in WinMX will cause the text after it to be hidden (although if you copy/paste the text you will see the hidden text and 3.31 users will see the text too because they ignore colours)
Also related to this bug: If your name ends in a colour code then you cant do action text, because the colour code on your name followed by the colour code for the action text causes a problem.
This is one bug that I will be able to fix, but not until the next version - Its only a minor thing and there's no point delaying for anouther round of testing before releasing just for this :-)
Well it doesnt look bad for a beta release. Thanx MxTools :)

hmmm, getting mixed reactions so I don't know what I should do. But I am probably going to stick with Freez and be skeptical.

Always a good policy :D
Freez has been around long enough to know .
This is a beta program and theres plenty of rooom for improvement but if you suggest anything at least you have a chance of it being included .

Unfortunately that did seem the case.
Anyone have any Ideas for improvements to this software that Km can ponder over ?

I little update from Km regarding the MCMA client .
Just a small update, MCMA 0.2 is looking good so far so I thought I'd just give a little update as to what its going to have:

from 0.1:
Coloured Text
RTF Block
NewLine (Similar to RCMS's #\r\n# but with names shown at the top)
Some basic user and channnel stats
Ability to redirect single users
IP Listing support for Rabbit users
ID Number Hiding

New to 0.2:
I fixed a few minor bugs with multiple colour codes
Improved RTF to fix a bug and also only applies the protection to 3.31 users (so 3.53 users can laugh at the lame person trying it)
Also Improved the #colour list
Ability to restrict coloured text to admins only (if you want)
added a Text Replace thing (so you can replace words in users Substitution ,names/text so "hello" shows as "good morning" or whatever)
added a room filler feature to make the room look bigger
Ability to customise the look of the text in the room (an example being i am playing around with an MSN style look instead of normal "<name> message" at the moment)
And by popular demand the [MCMA] in the topic will be gone in 0.2 (although the tiny message at the top when users enter that hardly anyone notices will stay)

Also, apparently bender has decided to catch up with everyone else and has implimented the rest of the winmx protocol in to RoboMX so it can now support coloured text (although I had a look and the colours are messed up
Thanx for the info KM :)

btw, MCMA 0.2 is out...

and your copy/paste from my news post missed the bit at the bottom... the funny bit... lol
An amusing side note: the robomx chat server now includes the same coloured text and guess what, it uses the same "crappy way MCMA implements colored text" (quote from bender) - well I guess he obviously cant think up anything better (or even anything) while he's going around calling other programs crap... lol

This is the New MCMA reffered to above (Version 0.2)

http://www.mxtools.net/downloads/?file=mcma0.2b.zip
Finally what many have been waiting for!
MCMA 0.2b is out. This version has some new features, and it should run on Windows 2000 systems where it appeared to do nothing :-)
MCMA can format the text the way you want it in the room. You can use "MSN Style" of the text if you want and colored names/messages. You can replace words in the room or name of users. Useful if you want to block swearing words from your room. It also has a #colour list like on the chat server.
I missed that part out on purpose KM as I like this section of the forum to be professional in nature and not a name calling area.
anyway well done on this new release. :D

Another release from mxtools. This is version 0.2.1b :) Get it from here

http://www.mxtools.net/downloads/?file=mcma0.2.1b.zip
I've released a minor update to MCMA (version 0.2.1) which basicly fixes 2 of the immediate issues that there where:

1. The loader file has been replaced with one that should work for all windows 2000/XP/2003 users (thanks for your help multi)
2. I've added a #BOT# command, because bots where confused by the text formating so if they type #BOT# they are basicly treated as a 3.31 user and send normal text (any user can use it if they dont like your choice of text format as well... lol)

I have left the 2 previous loaders in there just in case as before.exe (the one that is run before winmx) and after.exe (the one that runs after winmx) - dont use them both btw :-P

Thanx for this upgrade MxTools :D .
