ok here's the issue! i was looking for a cracked serial key for a game of mine and somehow contracted a small adware/spyware program called Search Assistant...Since then I have spent all morning trying to get this PoS off of my comp but have failed........

SpyBot = tried
Adaware = finds the browser hack files, but failed
AVG = notta
Panda Scan = notta
Hijack This = tried deleting files....notta
Spyware Blaster = notta
Regedit = deleted all the program files for it....came back so....notta

SOMEONE HELP ME GET THIS THING OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Red, have you tried seeing if the program is listed in Add/Remove Programs in your Control Panel. Also if you can try to locate where the program is located, it may be hidden amounst your system files, but it might be just sitting there in Program Files, try and find it and see if there is an unistall option.

Manual removal
Please follow the instructions below if you would like to remove My Search Bar manually. Please notice that you must follow the instructions very carefully and delete everything that is mentioned. In most cases the removal will fail if one single item is not deleted. If My Search Bar remains on your system after stepping through the removal instructions, please double-check by stepping through them again.
1. Start the registry editor. This is done by clicking Start then Run. (The Run dialog will appear.) Type regedit and click OK. (The registry editor will open.)
2. Delete 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Classes \ CLSID \ {014DA6C1-189F-421a-88CD-07CFE51CFF10}', if it exists.
3. Delete 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Classes \ CLSID \ {014DA6C9-189F-421a-88CD-07CFE51CFF10}', if it exists.
4. Delete 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ Browser Helper Objects \ {014DA6C1-189F-421a-88CD-07CFE51CFF10}', if it exists.
5. Delete 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ Browser Helper Objects \ {014DA6C9-189F-421a-88CD-07CFE51CFF10}', if it exists.

9. Browse to the key:

In the right pane, delete the value called {014DA6C9-189F-421a-88CD-07CFE51CFF10}, if it exists.
10. Browse to the key:
'HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Internet Explorer \ Toolbar \ WebBrowser'
In the right pane, delete the value called {014DA6C9-189F-421a-88CD-07CFE51CFF10}, if it exists.
11. Exit the registry editor.
12. Restart your computer.
13. Delete the following folders:
%ProgramsDir%\MySearch\
%ProgramsDir%\MyWay\
Note: %ProgramsDir% is a variable (?). By default, this is C:\Program Files.
14. Start Microsoft Internet Explorer.
15. In Internet Explorer, click Tools -> Internet Options.
16. Click the Programs tab -> Reset Web Settings.

See if that helps. Make sure to back up your registry before deleting anything out of it.

I did and that didnt work Adi, actually i finally got rid of it after going through my registry for an hour and modifying the reg file for it finally found that bastard!

Try downloading Pest Patrol? and also i dno if it is spyware itself but i stumbled upon it when looking for ad aware http://www.adaware.com seems to be another prograM.... sorry if thats the wrong address i found it when i was tired lol... hope this helps
