I think I might have made some mention of this before. But you can go back to a website back in 1996. http://web.archive.org I mean take a look at yahoo's webpage back then, isn't it crazy? The past 10 years of the internet have been extrodinary. Of course back at that time everyone who had internet had 28.8k or 33.6 k modems so, figure that content levels were kept to a minimum and other things like php, asp, and other high end web platforms weren't available. I mean to launch cricketmx 10 years ago would have cost around $10,000 for the server software and just to get it installed. Not that anyone would because the load times would be rediculous.

Figure back then I could get a decent paying job to defrag drives and simple things, those jobs are gone. I mean, do you defrag your drive anymore?

I use this site a lot. It's espicially useful when a website you visit has changed (maybe pricing has changed, or contact information has been removed) or if the site is just gone.

I used to use an extension called Archive Search, but it was only built for Firefox 0.9 - 1.0. It put a button on your toolbar that would cycle you through different archives of the current website. It'd start with the Google cache, then Yahoo, Msn, and finally Archive.org. It was nice while it lasted, though.

Seems to have been updated, just not with addons.mozilla.org. I found a copy that says it's ok through 3.0a1. I'm going to install it, and hopefully it doesn't nuke me.

Works nicely. You have to add it to your toolbar (right click your 'Home' icon, select 'Customize' and drag it up there). The only change I notice is that the archive order has changed. Archive.org is moved as first search, then the others. No options with this extension to change that.

archiveOverlay.js is the file that seems to handle this. I think this can be manually edited before installing, but it may break your computer and eat your dog. I'll have to test it on another computer, first.

Not that this has anything to do with this thread but. On your uptime. Get a 650VAC battery backup that way if the power goes out you wont lose your uptime. They're good for 350watts, just don't plug in your monitor to the battery otherwise just hope the power doesn't stay off for long.

Batt backup is on the todo list, just not very high on the priority list. I want to build MythTv first, and a few other projects that are basically waiting for funding.

Go to Wal*Mart, there like $30-40....

But those APC ones are only 350VA, I think that comes to like 200 watts...somewhere in that ballpark.
