Precipitated by the entertainment industry’s pursuit and subjugation of corporate P2P entities such as BitTorrent, MetaMachine, FrontCode, Limewire and FreePeers, grass root efforts picked up where commercialism failed. It brought about the resurrection of WinMX, the continuation of LimeWire and the furtherance of BitTorrent.
