Here's a news story on what's going with the division from within the WinMX community. Alot of WinMX users haven't been to happy with this division within the main players who're resurrecting WinMX & the
community.
I hope both group's can work out their differences & come to a agreement to work together, not to continue divided.

Virtually every WinMX fan can articulate the history of this network, especially the last month. Over the last month, this network has seen perhaps some of the most interesting developments. Many know that FrontCode Technologies, the development team behind WinMX, ceased operations on September 21st. The remaining community was thrown into chaos, unwilling to abandon this client as FrontCode had many months, perhaps even years, prior.
In the aftermath of the closure of WinMX.com, the community surrounding this client immediately began work on its resurrection. With the WinMX.com domain down, clients could not contact FrontCode’s vital host (peer) cache server. The host cache server contained the IP addresses (peer caches) of supernodes currently connected to the network. Without knowing a connected IP address, the network collapsed. Despite this, several individuals succeeded in resurrecting this network by establishing an alternative host cache server. And there was peace in our time.
But that peace would be short lived.
The original host cache that appeared on P2Pzone on September 23rd, was created with the assistance of "SABre'911", "Polini" and "Ramna.â€

I don't see anything humorous about are situation. 
Now I am really laughing. reading your post prompted me to go to WinMXWorld and read this
I wish you all the luck in the world because you will definitely need it.
WinMX, the last I checked belonged to FrontCode but i could be wrong. This "resurrection" may last for a while but you all are naive if you think it will last. The *AA groups will come after it again. I do commend the efforts and if you do want it to last then you all need to figure out a way to get along. If Vladd wants to make an offshoot of WinMX then so be it, who really cares as long as users have a place to go to get their downloads and chat (since that is all WinMX was ever good for). WinMX is dead, something new must rise in its place. To me it seems that Vladd will ultimately come out on top. Vladd has been in the scene for a long time and his site has existed well before WinMX World and has a bigger user base.Vladd
We petition you to take a greater look at your actions. Please think of the good of WinMX and not the glory of yourself. We petition you to stop allowing the planning of attacks on the ws2_32.dll or any other means KM releases that allows users to connect. We petition you to also stop the planing of this take over of WinMX to change it into your personal p2p ie: MXpie. Its in the interest of WinMX that you reconsider your actions and take a look at your motives. This program doesnt belong to you, or any ONE individual. WinMX belongs to the users. Your actions and lack of actions would give way for users to think that your intentions are to take somthing that does not belong to you, and to destroy any one that doesnt fit into your PIE Patch agenda, and team. It is the position of WinMX World that you have no rights to take WinMX and make decisions that effect the entire user base with out their consent or knowledge. Control of WinMX no more belongs to Vladd44.com or Operation PIE then it does to WinMX World or WinMX Group.
I wish you all the luck in the world because you will definitely need it.

Last I heard they resolved some of their differences with vladd.The petition is no longer there? Did WinMXWorld give up the fight or have they resolved their differences with Vladd?
There seems to be peace among the two groups now.

it's all about "glory" both sides. I simply think that stuff on Vladd's side is better, anything I ever got was good. Why dont they close the doors and PIE patch will be made to anyone avialable and ws dll avialable and kind of leave it as a "brand" name type thing, that is if they can't act any more mature than that.
Where is the argument? I mean as far as I know there hasnt been any issues with PIE, but the ws dll has problems if it cant connect. It's clear and obvious which is better.
The reason why they wont come togeather and work on one project is because they want the glory of being responsible of the ressurection of WinMX. I garuntee that if both of them came here both would deny, hey I would too.
I don't know either one that well, I think I had actually made a post in the tread where a few people were bitching. I wasn't supporting anyone, someone I think was called Icedragon, I may be mistaken, it's inmaterial, was saying all about how winmx belonged to the public an so on. Well the truth is it doesn, it's actually illegal to use it since the work has ceased, but we continue to anyway. I wonder if Kevin Hearn uses PIE patch? or even WinMX? Interesting thought. But anyway, it's either going to be a global project, or we have controversy.
But really it all boils down to me wanting to download a movie, music, or other junk. Personally, I think others may agrees, dont really give a ***** where you can get the movie, as long as it is safe and fast. I actually got busted downloading a movie off of Bit Torrent not too long ago, if I get caught, everyone will, thats how mediocore I am. I seriously doubt that I'll use BT ever again.
Instead of petitions and bitchings or otherwise being "a silly bunch of bastards" (thats a good one) simply take a damn poll and find out what direction to take, and stick to it. Otherwise kiss WinMX goodbye forever, it will come to that.
This whole issue is like Vietnam dealing with ARVN and VC and the United States. We have the people that really dont care but act like it (ARVN), the people who will never give up hope in WinMX (VC), and the RIAA and other organizations, (USA).
It's not quite the same, but a good analogy. So people, it time to come togeather and make something. I don't think PIE Patch is going to solve all the problems in p2p in general, infact it's only a needle in the hay stack. We need to make something that is legally untracable. We need it to make it impossible for anyone to get busted for running any server or downloading/uploading any files. I dont hold the answer, you big time computer geeks do. So quit bitching and fussing, doesn't make anyone look good. "He's also the person who made WinMX work again, but he's a whinny one though."
I dont know who has done all the whinning, and I don't care.
If you want my honest opinion, I don't think it's so much Vladd, and a little more of the other person. But thats only because each time I encounter him he doesn't seem like the type to go all PMS.
