Hi peoples,

My problem, since connecting to dsl broadband I can't seem to get winmx downloads to speed up (they have actually slowed). I make a primary connection. Please bear with me as I have no idea bout all this bandwidth stuff and ports stuff so I left that stuff alone.
I was fine with dial up.
my speed connection is 512 through optus.....I turn my firewalls off (norton and windowsxp).
Can anyone help this partialy computer illiterate mum.

Ta mateys

Hi Biaco. welcome to the forum :)
A common problem for users migrating from dial up to DSL is to leave the bandwidth throttles on .
These can be found in Settings - Bandwidth Throttle, make sure the two boxes on the top right are unticked.
Can you also let us have a few more details about your operating system firewall/router etc, as there are certain things that can affect you, that I can only guess at without a few hints :D

Ummm yes well

I did what you said about the bandwidth.

As for the other things like the router????? What the???

My Operating system is WindowsXP.

Apart from that I have no idea.

What I don't understand is that I was downloading fine on dial-up. Now I can't.....

I'm sorry I don't get what you are saying......
