Please post full details.
What songs are you trying to download?
What is your operating system (Win 95/98/2000/ME/XP etc)?
Are you running a firewall? If so, which?
Do you have a router? Have you forwarded your winmx ports?
Are you on a primary or secondary connection?
What error messages are you getting?
Anything else you can think of.

That will happen because the filename has something that the english windows filenames aren't allowed to have. It's pretty rare but I've had it happen 3 or 4 times as well.
There's two solutions to this.
First is you can change the regional settings on windows and then try to download it again.
Or from the search screen you can right click the result, and select manually download. Then choose manually browse for the file to resume from. Then instead of finding a file to resume from, just type the name you want for the file and click save. It'll save it as that filename instead of the name that appeared in the search. The only downside is that you'll need to search for alternates and copy the hash for the file, otherwise WinMX won't be able to find the file if you close MX for whatever reason.
