Hmm, I cant see the reason behind this one, it takes away the choice of folks who wish to obtain DSL services without the additional cost burden of a phone line.

A deeply divided Federal Communications Commission suspended on Friday state rules forcing phone providers to offer "naked" DSL, in the commission's first serious look at the controversial issue.

Am I missing something here ? I thought the job of the Federal communications commision was to look after folks rights not to remove them.
Maybe the committee members have shares in a few of the corporations that were voluntarily offering this service, and wanted to increase their return

I don't understand it either. I guess the phone companies complained that it was undermining their business plans or something.
