Folks, you all know why lokitorrent got shut down, and it was all to do with lokitorrent not having the money to fight, you may as well shut down a library for having an index of where the books are.
Thats all they had on their site an index , no files.
I think we can remember this sort of idea about 60 years ago when they burned the books too.

Having clicked that link it occurred to me to wonder if my IP had been logged. Nothing in the public html suggests that they're collecting addresses but it's possible that they are. I'm not entirely sure the 'shutdownthis' site is a good idea. I don't know the legal position of the site (perhaps Prog would care to comment?) in the US but, for sure, calling the MPAA and RIAA 'assholes' would not be parody or fair use in the UK. Rather, it would be defamation and likely to get the site registrant sued.

In the U.S., the site would likely be protected under the First Amendment. Calling MPAA executives "assholes" would be viewed as commentary/criticism and thus protected. The part about crack-smoking might be on the verge of defamatory, but if the MPAA wanted to sue for defamation, THEY bear the burden of proof that the statement wasn't true.
