If anyone has one of these, could you please:

A) Post a link to it for me
B) PM me cause I have a key I need you to test for me

I recently had problems like 3 1/2 weeks ago with my comp which was running 98SE so I had to format. Put XP on and that has just been messing up like crazy, so now today I go onto my computer (I leave it playing music overnight to help me sleep) and it turns out the "ntoskrnl.exe" was deleted somehow. So I figure "OK, I'll just use the XP disk to put it back on with the Repair Command." Guess I was wrong...It froze everytime at 76% and then I said F*** it! Decided to try and format it...THAT Froze at 84-86% the 4 times I tried it. So now I'm gonna have to format it with my 98SE boot disk and put that on UNLESS!

If someone had a 2000 disk and #s they could send to me through the mail I would appreciate it and put that on my computer instead of 98SE.

Thanks everyone! I'm using my mother's comp for the time being...

or... it could be worse.... the failure to install the OS could be related to hardware problems. Overheated processor, memory failure and motherboard failure are likely contenders in that instance.

A faulty hard drive can be at fault as well.

I received a 20GB drive for free from a friend. It was going to be for my linux machine. However, after every install it would reboot and tell me no OS was found. I thought it was just a bad disk. So I tried loading windows on it with the same result.

I would say that your problems lie more in hardware then in software.

It's simple. Hook them both up, ensure one is master and the other is slave. The master is C: and the slave should default to D: if not you can change letters. XP "should" recognize both drives. If not you will have to perform some magic and all will be good.

I'll gladly knock sense into anyone. There is no need to purchase anything, ever. If you want XP, download it.

Don't fret Red, hard drives are pretty cheap for a standard IDE drive, especially around 40GB. Your wallet only notices when you go after ultra fast large capacity SATA drives.
