Whats happened is, that bar at the top of WinMX is actually a tiny window of your Interner Broswer and is used for the "New WinMX x.xx Available" message. It looks like your browser had a fit and couldn't display the page which it usually does, maybe a proxy or connection problem. Reset WinMX and see if that fixes the problem.
Nothing to worry about, whats appearing is just a part of one of the Page Cannot Be Displayed pages you see when something brakes.

Mine has been pink for the last few days
Hmm, so it must be an Internet Explorer type bar, I have never got that error in Netscape
