I saw an AOL ad today that said thay've been helping people get online for 20 years. I couldn't believe this. After I double checked my math and decided that 1985 was not a likely time for AOL to have been working with the internet, I did a bit of searching.

Seems that they're telling the truth. I never would have guessed.
Love them or hate them, AOL has been around for 20 years.

Thanks Nes.
The question: How long has the Internet been around? Is something that came up
in a conversation with some friends recently. It is a good one to get everyone thinking.
An anecdotal history of the people and communities that brought about the Internet and the Web.
Who was the first to use the Internet?
Did Al Gore invent the Internet?

That's not the man in the moon...that's me
That's a very interesting read, there.
I hate AOL. And what I've heard about Al Gore and the internet is that he was on a comitee or something that helped to fund devolopment of the internet.
