i can connect to the network & search, however any file sharing or downloading times out. this problem recently started about 2 weeks ago. prior to that its worked fine. anyone else here having sililar issues or any thoughts? thanks.

Well, is your ISP one of those on the list at the page you linked to? If so, the answer is probably yes. Try changing your ports to others which are reserved for other functions, such as secure e-mail and SSL. What often works is to map TCP to port 443 and map UDP to port 1032.

Sure no prob, and yea, Shaw Is on the list! (Canadian of all things!
) to boot its a Very localized internet provider. well i'll try the ports you suggested and we'll see where she goes from there. i'll keep ya posted!

Okay, note to all here who use Cox, Optimim Online, Charter, NVI, Shaw, Rogers and Insight for there Internet providers use the ports listed above(443 for TCP & 1032 for UDP). it doesnt completely solve the problem - but it helps.
