Seems the current scare tactic is proving a pathetic PR disaster
Less than a day after threatening mass legal action on students, the nice guy in charge let slip that virtually no one would face any legal action.

The RIAA backtracked on their threat. RIAA president Cary Sherman stated in an online chat:

"Chances are we will not take further action against these particular infringements, but we're reserving the right to do so. In any event, we will certainly take action against future infringements"

Is this not a sign of terminal ineptitude ?

...they allready demonstrated that a few times with "we are suing xxx people" followed by "xx people have settled out of court, the others have had the cases dropped" - but the media is on their side anyway so the average "idiot" user just gets told "loads of people where sued, and you will be as well if you use p2p programs"
