k....every time i double click on "my Computer Icon" then "hard drive" icon...a Search Results pops up....and on the my computer window noting happens...and same with my USB ports(64MB memory stick) or any other thing connected to my USB port(s) ......and also..when i insert a Disc(CD-R/W)....i was on the winmx...cricket room and i asked for help and they said they also had tha same problem ..but they coun't fix it....so thats y i am turning to the forum....kan someone please HELP ME!!!!...thanx

I would assume it is some sort of spyware or virus. Have you run adaware, spybot or any anti-virus software?

When the search result window is up, try pressing F3.
I'm not sure what's causing this, and I've never seen it, but that'd be my guess.

If you know the drive letter, or care to guess a few times, you might be able to get into the drive from the run command.

Open your start menu and select run. Then type in C Colon

Code: Select all

c:
to open your c drive. My USB drive is usually F:, maybe G:.

A: floppy
B: floppy
C: HD
D: DVD/CDRW
E: Virtual DVD
F: JumpDrive
G: Camera

You may need to adjust up or down depending on your hardware.

YES GRINCH i have run my virus program and adware program..but no spyware program...and no difference.
IM BACK for a day or two ...lol

Try booting from your windows cd and running the repair tool. It may clear up a few problems.
