Hmm, I cant see the reason behind this one, it takes away the choice of folks who wish to obtain DSL services without the additional cost burden of a phone line.

A deeply divided Federal Communications Commission suspended on Friday state rules forcing phone providers to offer "naked" DSL, in the commission's first serious look at the controversial issue.
Am I missing something here ? I thought the job of the Federal communications commision was to look after folks rights not to remove them.
Maybe the committee members have shares in a few of the corporations that were voluntarily offering this service, and wanted to increase their return :twisted:

I don't understand it either. I guess the phone companies complained that it was undermining their business plans or something.

The commissioners said investigation into just these issues was "an afterthought."
they obviously did lots of research before making that ruling.. lol
