Reuters wrote:Japan's antitrust regulator has determined that Intel Corp. violated the country's anti-monopoly laws and tried to undermine the competitive position of smaller rival Advanced Micro Devices Inc., (AMD) a source familiar with the situation said on Monday.
Japan's Fair Trade Commission will announce its finding on Tuesday in Tokyo, said the source, who asked not to be named.
Intel declined to comment, and a representative of Japan's antitrust regulatory agency could not be reached immediately for comment.
Japan's FTC will formally issue a recommendation requiring that Intel change the way it does business in Japan, the source said. If Intel rejects the recommendations, a court proceeding would be opened.
