KONSPIRE[2b]
Once Again i was searching for new P2P Programs to look at ... this one popped up and is only recently new to every one (07th june2003 ). i have not tried it yet but if ya want more info on it check the web site out and tell me what ya think of it.
this is a note that is one the site:
with other file sharing apps, you:
1. figure out what you want to look for
2. come up with search terms to describe what you're looking for
3. run a search
4. wait for search results to trickle back
5. repeat steps 2 through 4 until you get search results
6. comb through a list of possible downloads
7. start a download
8. repeat steps 6 and 7 until you find a source that is not [behind a
firewall, swamped, fake]
9. repeat steps 6 through 8 until you find a source that doesn't cut you
off mid-download
10. check out the file that you downloaded
11. repeat steps 1 through 10 until you find a file that you actually like
with konspire2b-based apps, you:
1. subscribe to channels that match your interests
2. go to bed
3. wake up in the morning to the files that have arrived on your subscribed channels
4. feel certain that the files are legit, thanks to konspire2b's heavy-duty, automatic, digital signatures
5. unsubscribe from channels that disappoint you
6. build trust for a channel owner's tastes over time (owners are completely responsible for what goes out on their channels)
7. spend the time that you used to spend searching doing other less frustrating things (see 8 for a suggestion)
8. start a channel to broadcast your own files
BEWARE THIS program is still in its BETA stages:
check the site out b4 downloading the program :

Ok , I found out that these guys have a furum and i have put too em a couple of questions.
I'm not quite sure if this network is up and operational (as ive not had time to download it as yet and check it out ) at this time ... But I do know there has been a couple of remarks made about it in their forum ( the forum can be found on their web page ). And so far it seems the same as MUTE's network config (operating on nodes , refer to my last post on MUTE) but as i get more info that i requested (if i get a reply) ill post as soon as i can .. or even better maybe they might come here and post about it themselves !! u never know.

Now i've given up on konspire[2b]... as ive now downloaded the program , i have used it and i got no connection at all. Sorry to post something about a dead P2P network but i did think it was alive and well .
As much as i can gather on this network it was simular to a bittorent client and tracker ... but you had to broadcast want you wanted instead of seeding and waiting for someone to browse the tracker then start downloading. with this you had to know what you were after and had to wait for someone to reply to get what you wanted ... obviously not a good way to go about a P2P network. Well there is no harm in trying new things... lol

i have heard some chatter on Konspire but not much is out there ... yes i know i said i give up on it but it intrigued me to see if it is up ... i havent heard much after that on this network but i can confirm that the security on this is exactly like Mute ( Which this program is based on ) actually heard it from ian ( the creator of K2b ) but give it a go it could be running of picking up more users as Mute is picking up on more users using it ( ive eevn noticed that myself.

I saw this a while back Rock on sourceforge but as it seemed to rely on the originator going on a web site to post schedules and sign the files with a key I thought it was a poor security arrangement.
Also the system as shown operates virtually the same in other real life P2P systems , ask anyone who has had a multiple user download.
Still maybe its been improved recently ?

Your right Quicks, Its a "Push" instead of a "Pull" program ( "pull " is like winmx and other similar P2P, "Push" is like Bittorent )
Yes also you have to post the program you want, If a person has what you want, they message you ( inculded in the program, Supposedly ) ...
