Now that you have read what it does according to the makers of the program, let me tell you what i have found out about the program.

To fully understand this I will give a short overview of the WinMX network.

WinMX uses a Peer 2 Peer format as the network. Which means single users log in and file exchange from one computer to another without a central server. Now to make this work you have to have Primary connections that host other computers and share their bandwidth with secondary computers so that network will be steady. Primary connections can carry only so many users and the have searches forwarded through their connection. At any one time their can be 1000s of searches going on through one Primary connection user on the network. So the more primary connections on the network the better. WinMX also joins Primary connections together to stabilize connections depending what is going on.
Example: WinMX v3.31 - 2 UL @ 325 B/s <Online P=6 S=5 spm=8398>
These are my stats as of right now.
P= Primary connections connected to me
S= Secondary connections connected to me
SPM= Searches Per minute forwarded through me

Hope you understand now and I made some sense....

Now that you understand that somewhat, let me explain what QuickMX does to break this down.....

QuickMX cuts off all boundries for searching and downloading, which in turn puts a strain on the Primary connection users on the network. It is constantly searching users for files, this means that it takes up more bandwidth from primary users that could be used for other users. So lets say the average user searches with only the 5 limited searches within the alotted 10 minutes between searches. A QMX user is searching every single file they are downloading, lets say the have the max QMX of 10 file that can be searched for in the download screen..... 10 files constantly searched for until they are finished....
That is alot of bandwidth used for one user, which takes away from other users. This in turn slows the network because the same amount of primaries are on, but the searches per minute are increased x amount more. Users might gain a little from using this program, but something they do not realize and probably dont care to is that they are hurting WinMX as a whole... All the searching in the world wont get you files if the Primary connections cant handle the load you are putting on them.

QuickMX has also been known to have conflicts with itself, and many users have experienced crashes and loss from using QMX.
Also, I have been informed that the makers of the program are probably seizing production for the program....

So in a nutshell the programs disadvantages compared to advantages is overwhelming, it would be wise of you to shy away from the program.
Take the time to search on your own, patience is a good thing.
If you are using it - Stop! You will be helping everyone including yourself.

Thats a great article you posted ADi@/\/TUM 8)
And I agree, it does strain the network and is rather selfish.
