Many people believe that file sharing is just simple downloading of files for themselves.... I truly believe that they do think this way. As a matter of fact I see it everyday in the channels and in my queue. The frame of mind is an easy one to achieve, because in this world its me, me, me.
Altough, Most of us may have been like this at one time or another...we finally saw the light, it turned on for us. All of the leeching and whining, crying about speed and disconnects get overwhelming at times. I see why many people give up and quit sharing, because they believe that it is doing no good. The "well why should i share, when others dont." Because that is what WinMX is.

I said in the channel today that i believe only 1 in 20 WinMX users has probably ever uploaded a file to share. I changed my mind i think it could be in the range of 1 in 200 or more. If the file doesnt start immediately they try another. That is why every file I have uploaded has never been downloaded. Because it would take to long, and I dont think its because i have crappy files. Nevertheless, I still love WinMX even though I do little downloading anymore I leave it open for people grab.

We share here and we do it well, I hope that others will start to do the same.

That is why I switched over to BT. You have no choice but to upload as your downloading. WinMX is just too much of a hassle anymore. Files that would take weeks on winmx to get I can get within 24 hours on BT. Plus, I have yet to download a fake file which is a common problem on WinMX. Even if the future upgraes for WinMX comes down and they completely revamp WinMX I probably won't go back to it.

I use BT for everything now, well that and IRC. WinMX is good for musicm which i believe it will always will be. But everything else can be had in a more timely and concise manner at other locations.
Just wish it werent that way.......

I still prefer WinMX, although I use BT as well. I know I can preview on MX, so that's why I usually dl movies on MX. I have got fake files off BT before

I don't ever feel the urge to download from WinMX anymore. With BT and IRC has have much better success and speed. IRC might take a while to start but when it gets started it finishes quickly.

So i really guess you could say they all have their advantages and disadvantages, but they all have one thing in common....sharing.

The BT way of sharing is awesome, you can still tweak it to your advantage by limiting and closing out quickly. It is the greatest thing in sharing i have seen though.

Ripping though is the key, and if more people did it and shared them on MX we would not be having this exact discussion.
