Vimeo is a respectful community of creative people who are passionate about sharing the videos they make. We provide the best tools and highest quality video in the universe.
http://vimeo.com/
Vimeo is a video-centric social networking site (owned by IAC/InterActiveCorp) which launched in November 2004. The site supports embedding, sharing, video storage, and allows user-commenting on each video page. Users must register to upload content. Registered users may also create a profile and upload small user pictures as their avatars, comment and "like" videos.
Vimeo does not allow commercial videos, gaming videos[1], pornography, or anything not created by the user to be hosted on the site.[2] Vimeo has gained a reputation as catering to a high end, artistic crowd because of its high bitrate, resolution, and relative HD support.[3]
The name "Vimeo" was created by co-founder Jakob Lodwick. It is a play on the word "video", inserting the word "me" as a reference to the site's dedication to user-made films exclusively. It is also an anagram of "movie."

...........That's clever! It is also an anagram of "movie."
Vimeo has really gained a lot of popularity, in this respect. I'm pretty sure all of the tutorial videos on phpBB.com are hosted by Vimeo.moongirl wrote:Vimeo has gained a reputation as catering to a high end, artistic crowd because of its high bitrate, resolution, and relative HD support.[3]
pictures vs reality
if only the eager desires we only find in pictures could be played out in real life. this is what makes people love the art of photography.

It’s not very often that we review a camera that offers a completely new approach to photography, but that’s certainly the case with the Fujifilm Finepix Real 3D W1. As its name would suggest, the Fujifilm W1 is the world’s first camera that allows you to view 3D images, and it does so without the need to wear any special 3D glasses. The Fujifilm Finepix Real 3D W1 uses two lenses and two 10 megapixel sensors to achieve a stereoscopic 3D effect, simultaneously taking and layering together two 2D images into a single 3D composite, with both 3D still images and video with stereo sound on offer...
Yeah yeah yeah... but stereographic photos are old news (very - there are old sepia prints of these things in museums). This is a gimmick and Fuji are re-inventing the wheel. The only new thing here is that you get both shots at once in digital format. Stereographic cameras that work in film format have been available for decades - check out http://www.lomography.com for more on that point. There you'll find film cameras that have as many as 9 (lomo pop 9) separate lenses for some really cool effects. For an example of a stereo camera check here. Holga and Diana cameras, now sold by lomography along with their own models, were *the* thing to have in the 1960s but now they're considered "toy" cameras for hobbyists and enthusiasts. They feature interesting light-leaks and bizarre colours in the prints (often made worse by the need to use expired film).moongirl wrote:Fujifilm FinePix Real 3D W1 ReviewFor the full review go to:

For the comprehensive review go to:The Sony HX5V includes both a GPS receiver and compass built-in, allowing it to tag images with both the location and direction in which they were captured. Sony's bundled software and third-party applications such as Google Earth, which can read these tags, can then use the information to display images on a map by location. Cleverly, the GPS receiver is also used to keep the camera's internal clock accurate.
