I am now on 1536/256 ADSL, but I am soon going to 512/512 so I can P2P more, specially with other mates using my ISP.

56k, i liked my old modem better, it could handle less stable lines, like mine...like right after I cast my poll my internet dropped, not kidding either, 4th time it's done that in the past hour

amsd.. i doubt you will get your full connection speed, i have 1024/256 and i dont get the full amount yet a BW speed test tells me that i have a good connection and what i am drawing is spot on????

NTL tell me thats also right so i guess it must be, i have known ppl get pretty much what there connection is and others that have got nowhere near,

hope u can sort things out tho, dunno if this is where u posted about you con. probs but i remember reading it somewhere

i would have replied straight away but for some unknown reason i was unable 2 post most of yesterday same as grinch

SBC DSL
DL=3.0 UL=384

Been getting way more than 384UL though......
Used to have problems with connection drop, but now everything is running like a charm.

Everytime I get on the net, I feel like i have been kissed by the angels. SBC rocks.....

i have 56k but always connect at 50.6 becuase of the distance of the server and my computer...i hate 56k .....

50.6k isn't too bad, you'll never connect at 56k, it's unheard of.
When I had 56k, about the best I got was 54k, usually it varied between 44 and 52 though.

1Mbit/128k cable

cheapest package they offer with the exception of the 256k pos they have (thats almost as bad as dialup)

I wouldn't mind if i had the connections they have at college though, 10Mbit on one line, 2-20Mbit (varying rate) on another line, and a load of backup ADSL lines just in case something should break... oh well, i can dream

I had cable but the provider was evil. I now use DSL for the time being.

BOOZY - UKOnline offer 8 meg DSL in the UK. If you're not in one of their 8 meg areas, they can still offer you at least 2.
