This recently announced program that searches for new independant music downloads for you to listen to and rate, is good news, and a welcome break from the Cartels attitude of "do nothing, and wonder why folks are turning to P2P"

http://www.indy.tv/
Indy uses an advanced collaborative filtering system to predict what kind of music you'll enjoy hearing.
As you rate songs, Indy finds out what you do and don't like. It compares your preferences with the ratings of all the other Indy users.
For example, if you rate a song highly, and another user also likes the same song, Indy guesses that you'd probably like other music that they enjoyed.
As you rate more songs, Indy will gets better and better at picking songs that you'll really enjoy.
Sounds like a great idea for independent artists to get airplay and for us to cut out the middle man at last.
why should a business giant get all the profit, at the expense of the artist and the consumer ? This seems a better way for us all

until they decide its a threat to them... then they will no doubt be the first to come up with a great idea of matching users and music they might like... lol

This sounds like a good thing for music lovers. I might play with it when I get home.
