Help, I've got trojans I can't get rid of
Moderator: CricketMX Forum Moderators
there all in Restore/Temp & Restore/Archive, I tried Panda it detects them but won't get rid of them, I installed new antivirus and firewall that my cable company offers free called E Trust Antivirus & E Trust Firewall. It got rid of some I had in windows but not the ones in Restore. I tried going into safe mode and scanning again but there still there.

Try disabling System restore and then running your anti-virus.

I downloaded caught some nasty spyware yesterday. It was a bitch to remove. Everytime I tried to remove it with Adaware, Spybot or through add/remove programs it would hide all my desktop icons and disable my start menu. It wouldn't even let me reboot, I had to logoff and then reboot. Luckily I have 2003 server loaded on another partition, I booted into that, ran adaware and spybot and deleted the nasty files off my XP partition. Rebooted back into XP and problem solved. Unfortunately not everyone has multiple OS's installed. Try what Freez mentioned, if that doesn't work, wipe and reload.
That did it, there gone
. Thanks alot Freeze

You could have tried my last ditch option Krb , but a few dos commands are needed.

This will kill 99% of nasties when used witha good antivirus package, as you can shut the beastie down.
Well done Freeze
