New virus definitions now recognize WinMX2.6 as a virus and don't allow the program to open.

It's a false positive result , updating Avast! should fix the issue of Avast! detecting malware in WinMX.
How odd. Seems strange that if they were going to add WinMX 2.6, they didn't do it when it was in its prime several years ago.
Anyway, it is wrong, because WinMX was one of the few softwares who never sold out to adware and spyware and what-not-ware
