Let's face it, all the most popular browsers have advantages and disadvantages. We have to live with it. For those that like IE there is good news. The new SP2 version - apparently available later this summer is rumoured to include popup blocking.

Which one in particular ? That IE has got more holes than a swiss cheese. The current topic of interest is the active x component, maybe next week something else
The Xp service pack 2 beta is already available and ppl have been removing the media player 10 component from it to upgrade :D
Also the firewall has been Improved . Read here for the details .

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodte ... chngs.mspx

or to get the actual beta service pack 2 use this link.
Please dont install this on your machine if your not an experienced user , as microsoft will not help you if you get into trouble .

There is a slightly different version available that also updates your updating software and automatically sets itself up (I prefer to archive the software first then try it , so I recommend the above download ), you can get the intelligent version from here .

Good luck [-o<

Mozilla uses Netscape technology and Firefox is the browser part of Mozilla.

The problem with IE is that it can controle your computer and has a lot of security flaws. Trust me on it that SP2 won't do anything about it. In SP2 is probably going to fix some bugs that should have been fixed a few years ago and for newer versions of IE they go for things like full CSS2 and PNG support. Those two things are very nice for webmasters but don't make IE any safer. IE can't be made safer before they make a new version and stop giving your browser the abbility to control your pc...
That is also what makes it start abit faster with slow machines, it's already preloaded with Windows.

Using IE is the same thing as driving in a car with a 1000kg bomb at your bumper.

I don't see the point of being happy with pop-up blocking. You can install a thing like google toolbar in like 30 seconds and if you use firefox you don't have to do anything at all.

Microsoft won't help you anyway if you get into trouble.
