Re: CompTIA A+ & MSCE - Is it worth it?
Server too easy? Unless you have ever set up an enterprise level domain a few times I don't think you can classify server as easy. There is a lot more to server than just installing Active Directory and creating users. I don't have a college degree and I can get a job with no problems considering I ...

Re: CompTIA A+ & MSCE - Is it worth it?
The MCSE certification doesn't really exist anymore since Server 2008 arrived. The new equivalent is the MCITP Enterprise Administrator . Don't waste your time with A+. Look at Cisco certifications as well starting with CCNA. A big top paying job is database administrator. Usually they start out at ...

Re: CricketMX... update!
Seems dubious to me considering this is April 1st and I am the other Admin of the site and battye never mentioned anything to me.
Nice try.

This is for servers. This is not a desktop operating system.
On the other hand, the successor to Vista, codenamed Windows 7, has a tentative release date of 2009.

Re: The future of BitTorrent
I have no idea why you will only connect to certain seeds. It could be those seeds are blocking IP ranges and you happen to fall into one of them. Who knows?

Re: The future of BitTorrent
One issue with BT I have is the users ability to throttle their upload. That is probably what you are experiencing. I downloaded a file yesterday at 800kbs start to finish. I was really impressed. The file only had 13 seeds and I think I connected to only 4 of them. I understand the need to throttle...

Re: The future of BitTorrent
BitTorrent isn't going anywhere. As far as I am concerned it is the most efficient file sharing system out there for large files. The boys at Pirate Bay are working on a new protocol more than likely based off BitTorrent. Bram Cohen is always doing something with his code, unfortunately it is now cl...

Re: The Articles Topic
I don't think SP3 will be anything like SP2. SP2 pretty much overhauled XP and did indeed break a lot of stuff. It was a nightmare for a lot of people. I am expecting SP3 to be a smooth transition. From what I can tell it is going to add functionality that is built in to Vista and will help it inter...

Re: The Articles Topic
I signed it, why not. Is there an official press release from Microsoft about this? This is the first I heard about them wanting to stop sales of XP. I'm thinking of upgrading to Vista. I recently purchases a couple of laptops with Vista and I kinda like it. It isn't as bad as I thought originally. ...

Re: WinMX lives on in Japan
Most of WinMX's users left the one time market leading P2P program in late 2005, when the developers gave in to the RIAA's cease and desist order. Thanks to efforts by various loyal individuals and supporter groups in the greater WinMX community, just because the owners of WinMX literally pulled th...

Re: 4th anniversary and the new website
Makes sense to me. The only thing I am not crazy about is the signature area seems to run into the post area, it kind of makes the posts seem very cluttered to me. Not sure if there is a way to separate it a bit.

Re: 4th anniversary and the new website
I'm still adjusting to the new look and feel but overall not bad. battye, you did a good job on the theme. Didn't phpBB make a bunch of changes to the theme in between RC's? I remember that being one stumbling block. This theme doesn't quite resemble the one I was working on, it looked more like the...

Re: The Articles Topic
Nice article battye. I'm not a big mp3 purchaser or buyer. Occasionally I will download some stuff if I get a bug in me. At this point I am so fed up with the RIAA and anti-piracy measures that I refuse to purchase music. The artists don't make much money off CD sales anyway but that is a topic for ...
