Re: Acronyms

x86 - We have all seen this, x86 is actually abbreviated, it stands for the 8086 platform that Intel designed for the 8086 processor back in the early 80's. Of course there have been some improvements over the years. x86 is a 32-bit architecture. x64, EMT64 - You could say for the purposes of the to...

Re: Benchmark Tug of War

Playing with hardware isn't my thing, I think I learnt my lesson after the record 45 days of uptime on my old laptop. But this is a cool idea, if I can help out as an umpire or something - sure! This isn't a uptime contest or an over clocking contest, the cool thing that benchmarks take about...

Benchmark Tug of War

I got an idea, might be fun in a geeky sort of way. A computer benchmark tug of war. How this will work: [/b] 1. Evenly divide users into teams, doesn't matter how many as long as both teams have the same number of people, so this would be the first stage...getting everyone (that will participate) i...

Re: Browser Wars!

Problem is, even today, there are still many who use IE as a default browser and not aware of others. Or some are too scared to switch because it's what they are used to, don't like change, or even realise that installing another browser doesn't "overwrite" IE. Yep, I've been asked that b...

Re: Don't let your domain expire

I know. I didn't clarify that in the post. I could buy those as well...but then again if they were to buy it I could see adding $500 to the price...seriously if they're dumb enough to spend that kind of money, after all hard to tell if this company is even legit...

Re: Don't let your domain expire

You could buy those yourself and sell them to your "red necks" for a much smaller, but still modest, profit. Does that make me a ferengi? I think we can negotiate... Well never really thought of it in that way, since that's exactly what this company is doing, just a bit more aggressive......
