Re: Clean Keyboards
I've run standard keyboard through the dishwasher before. I've only done it 3-4 times, but it's always worked after drying for about a week.

Re: Happy 7th Anniversary CMX
Congrats, Battye!
I tried to log on, but couldn't access the site from the hospital. (don't worry, good news) I even tried to set up an ssh tunnel to the house so I could get around it, but couldn't convince the web server to give me the right page.

Re: Game: The Humble Indie Bundle (Name your price)
I got an email today that the original bundle has been added to my download page. If you beat the average price, it's included. I'd been wanting to try World of Goo.

Re: What game are you playing on your PC?
For me, it's been Minecraft. Penny Arcade sums it up with this: http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2010/9/17/ and this: http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2010/9/20/ Minecraft is cross-platform. You can purchase the version in development, or play the old "creative" version for free. Creativ...

Game: The Humble Indie Bundle (Name your price)

The Humble Indie Bundle is 5 games, DRM-free, available for Linux, Mac, or Windows. You pay what you want and decide how much goes to charity. I bought it, but I haven't had time to download any of the games yet. I'm looking forward to playing Braid in LInux.

I've been playing a lot of Minecraft lately. It's kind of like Legos with zombies that come out at night. You start with nothing and have to harvest trees for wood, then you can make a workbench and start building tools. After this, the world is wide open. This video is the best introduction I can t...

Forum and CMS
I've been looking for a good way to connect phpBB to a CMS. I've seen that several CMS packages have their own forum plugin, but I'm fond of phpBB. The closest thing I've seen is this, and it's not yet been released: http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=71&t=1438655 Although I've seen ...

Re: IE? No thanks! (And about time too!)
HTML5 catching on like flash and java, I expect to see something similar to silverlight  Don't get me wrong I think HTML5 will be used in a lot more places, could become the standard in time, but other browsers will catch on and people will continue to use chrome, firefox and so fourth... I've...

Re: Virtual Machine Question
I won't be able to help, but I spent quite a while getting Win98 to play nicely in VirtualBox. I was trying to play an old game that reportedly doesn't like XP or Wine. It's a pain and might not be worth the effort. Good luck.

Re: How to export list of users and IP's? (using SQL)
I've never actually crafted an SQL query, even though I've edited one or two. Is the syntax similar between MySQL and MS SQL? I ask because there's a query that I'd like to create which would ease part of my job. We use security tokens for the vpn at work, and the management is unfriendly and very s...

Re: Don't let your domain expire
The sad thing is, now that they know there is interest, they will probably hold onto the domain. If you hadn't noticed, and not contacted them, they would have dropped it after the first year or sooner. (I think "sooner" doesn't happen anymore. If I recall, the practice of "domain tas...

Re: Browser toolbars - how many?!
Years ago, I ran with the Google toolbar in IE. I even installed it in Firefox, out of habit. When I realized that I only actually wanted the searchbox, the toolbar was gone.

Re: Browser Wars!
It wasn't so stable on mine the last time I tried it. But, that was a while back and I was already several versions of Kubuntu old at the time.
