Firstly, would you guys mind checking out my site. I really want some feedback. Also, i see that this site has been customised. Are there any good online tutorials to find out how to do this. I'm a newbie, so any help would be really appreciated!

I think you should make a theme for your board, just to personalize it
Also a homepage just describing what your site's about I think is a good idea
When making a homepag, try and make it look as much like the forum as possible, so when going between the two, people will still know they are at your site

Its pretty plain and standard, you need to spurce it up a bit with some nice _non_light_blue_ colour schemes and maybe a bit of Flash. Also, what is you site about? Its pretty hard for someone to simply come and join your forum just because it a forum, you need to get a reader base to your site, get some articles, pictures, reviews MAKE IT ITERESTING!
