Recently this was brought to my attention in the WCH room on winmx and I felt that inlight of my recent troubles which may or may not be related to this I would share this with all of you.........

Firewalled (hardware and software) ...
Anti-spyware software up to date and used frequently ...

Okay Rat I would love to know what patches u have and where to get them, if you don't mind posting them. I use everything I can get my hands on these days for protection...hehe

There are no If you continue using Internet Explorer you will have to wait until SP2 for WinXP comes out which hopefully makes it a little bit safer.

Even trusted sites can have malcious code like what happened about a week ago. Has been in the news so maybe some of you seen it..

Having a firewall and up to date anti virus is the first step.
Trying a browser like firefox another good one. If you don't like it you can switch back to Internet Explorer.

As for the patches... I'm afraid it's microsoft. If you've got a legal copy of windows its safe, if not u gotta be careful.

Problem is that even Microsoft doesn't have the patches we need. They did make something lately but it only solved a very small part of the problem(s).

If you don't want to go for Firefox or a differnt one. At least disable Active Scripting for all but trusted websites.

I use XP PRO, which is a copy from a college. And I use IE on occastion as well as Netscape on occastion. But lately i have been moving over to FireFox.... not a bad browser. I have Opera but have never used it.

IE is a great browser, but as with all programs it can be torn apart by people looking to do some damage.

Microsoft is the best we have right now, so i can we are just going to have to suck it up. I like Microsoft myself, because without them we wouldnt be doing what we are now.
