Format c: :?: I would back up files first though and get win xp or 2k to replace 98.

haha OMG what planet are you on???

i have used all windows since 95, 98 is good for what it is and does but come on you gotta go with the flow and update when updates come out

2k was crap
ME i actually liked and would go bhack to
but XP is easily the best and easiest to use, although it takes a while to adjust 2

If you had xp there would still be options to try to fix this problem, but with 98 there isn't much more you can do to try to fix it.
One and a half years on 98 is a pretty good life. It's time reformat. You can put it off, but there will be more strange problems coming down the road.

I've used the following:

95, 98, ME, XP Home. The one that I think is best is Windows ME, really it is!

I had Windows 3.1 all the way up to XP Pro. I've used all of them. I had success with Win ME, I wouldn't say that it was great but it was stable on my machine when all my friends had problems with it. My recommendation is that you go with XP. It is a really stable OS if you take care of it. When it crashes, it crashes cause I make it crash. IE still has it's problems though.
