That's a Pretty Cute... PC

So far, Sony remained untouched by the recent developments in the field of the netbooks claiming that usability is what every UMPC should offer, but seems they just couldn't resist the temptation to come up with a tiny laptop. So, Sony finally has a netbook competitor, but only in size and not in price. Avaiable in your choice of red, white, green or black glossy lid colors, this 'pocket style PC' is called so because it comfortably fits into a coat pocket. It amazed everyone when Sir Howard Stringer (Chairman & CEO of Sony) ceremoniously pulled it out from his coat pocket during his keynote at CES 2009.

Sony has specially mentioned that this device is a not a netbook, but a lifestyle product and are promoting it as the lightest notebook around. Unfortunately though, the fact that it is a small sized notebook makes comparisons with netbooks inevitable (especially the price-to-performance ratio)...

I saw this topic and the first things I thought of were "Politically correct", then "Police constable". Only then did I think of "Personal computer"

I loved the line in the original (and my favourite) version of Life On Mars ...
"just give me a PC", and a PC enters the picture, in fact, it was a WPC (Woman Police Officer) Image

*Yes, you are correct that is not a UK - WPC!!
But, it is the only one I have, so Pretty Cop works for me!!

I remember that line too, but I saw it on the American version of Life on Mars?
But as you said, there was an original version from the UK. The Office is another show that the Americans made after it had success in the UK, and if I recall correctly the very first episode of the US version was exactly the same as the UK version except with different character names / company names. And I think the CBS remake of Worst Week was another such example of the same script being used for the first episode, while the writers have been making their own storylines thereafter. So it is possible the Life on Mars did the same thing.
