If you go to the site you see a big fat red FBI warning  this all came about after Star Wars III was found on there site six hours before the official release.
The action was the first criminal enforcement against individuals who are using cutting-edge BitTorrent software to obtain pirated content online, Justice and Homeland Security Department officials said

I've been reading about this on the net and I have reason to believe that the MPAA, FBI or ICE hacked their server. Somehow they managed to obtain server logs that has the potential of getting an ass load of people sued or prison time. I was thinking about starting up another tracker but I am not going to until this all settles down.

BIT-ANCE shut their doors as well, mostly to avoid the problems ET is having.

according to the article(s) 9 other sites were also involved in the shut down. So far I haven't seen who they were

Offshore servers running trackers don't guarantee they won't be shut down, at all.

That rather depends on where they're moved to. Tracker operators would do well to do a spot of market research.

Thats the goal of the MPAA; that no one will run any trackers.

I know what their goals are, but now with the FBI, Homeland Security, etc stepping in on their behalf the risk is just too great. Free files are sweet, but no way in hell are they worth going to jail over. I won't even bother going into an anti American Govt rant right now, its pointless and every other country hates us anyway so I'd just be preaching to the choir.. needless to say I am totally disgusted with my Government over this......

I am with you here Freez. I didn't realize that my Internet connection and PC (being a red blooded American) was conciderd an act of terrorism to have the FBI, Homeland Security involved.

Is it up the anti, or up the ante ??
