I decided to splurge and replace my computer, since memory prices are relatively low and found a SSD that didn't break the bank while delivering exceptional performance...I built this...

Intel Core i7 2600 3.4 GHz (3.8 Turbo Boost)
16 GB DDR3 PC3-1866
120 GB Mushkin Collisto SSD (285 MB/s read 275 MB/s write)
10x BD-RW

There is of course some stuff I kept like the video card and sound blaster, not to mention the farm of hard drives that hold my media collection. So what can I say about this machine? It's fast, seriously fast. Not that my old machine was slow by any means, but programs that would normally take 5-10 minutes to install are taking about 10 seconds and that's no exaggeration!

That looks great Layzie. How big is your media collection up to now? I'm guessing from your sig you are getting up near the 5TB mark?

media collection is about the same....i havent added any extra storge...probably will have to wait sometime before i can add any more hard drives...i have capacity for up to 9 hard drives currently...11 if i add an additional raid card...although I'm only using 6 right now...
