I've been playing a lot of Minecraft lately. It's kind of like Legos with zombies that come out at night. You start with nothing and have to harvest trees for wood, then you can make a workbench and start building tools. After this, the world is wide open.

This video is the best introduction I can think of to the game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LnjSWPxJxNs
(Just listen to the despair in his voice)

Today is the last day of the alpha release.
Right now, the game is selling for half price (10 Euro, ~$14US)
Tomorrow it goes up to 75% (15 Euro, ~$20US)
If you buy it today (Sunday) while it's still in alpha, you get free updates for life.

Old topic, granted. However, Minecraft has gone from strength to strength, big time. Just take a look at the impressive statistics:

22,905,562 registered users, of which 5,074,972 (22.16%) have bought the game.

And then you also have Total Miner for xbox360 which is equally successful and one my kids absolutely love inside out.

Me? I've yet to try it lol.
If you don't ask...
