The Self Portrait Challenge
"A continuous artistic self-expressive art project community."
The aim of this site is to create a community - an online community of people participating in a continuous artistic self-expressive art project.

How It Works
Each month a self portrait challenge is posted, you must interpret the challenge however you like, and then each week in the month there is an opportunity to participate. You can upload only once each week.

The links are archived each monday and the week starts on the tuesday, you may upload you link on any day you wish, but the earlier in the week the better - as soon as monday comes around they will be archived.
To free up inhibitions and allow that inner hidden something to be occasionally seen.

Deskography
Wake up!! It's desk tidying time everybody Image

I love this site!!
Probably because I've been the proud recipient of the award:
"A neat desk is the sign of..." (a very, very neat mind!!)
What is Deskography?
Deskography is a simple little service where you upload photos of your desk. Why? Well, the idea is that it's fun to invite the world to see where you work.

That's it? What else can I do?
See where people you admire spend their days and nights. Thinking about realigning your office and need some inspiration? Browse photos of desks that people in your industry have uploaded.

The Impossible Project
The Re-invention Of Instant Film

Image
We aim to re-start production of analog INTEGRAL FILM for vintage Polaroid cameras in 2010. We have acquired Polaroid's old equipment, factory and seek your support.

Polaroid is transforming itself from an analog Instant Film Production Company to a global Consumer Electronics and Digital Imaging company.

Production of analog Instant Film stopped in June 2008, closing the factories in Mexico (Instant Packfilm production) and the Netherlands (Instant Integral production).

Impossible b.v. has been founded with the concrete aim to re-invent and re-start production of analog INTEGRAL FILM for vintage Polaroid cameras. Therefore Impossible b.v. has acquired the complete film production equipment in Enschede (NL) from Polaroid, has signed a 10-year lease agreement on the factory building; and has engaged the most experienced team of Integral Film experts worldwide.

The Impossible mission is NOT to re-build Polaroid Integral film but (with the help of strategic partners) to develop a new product with new characteristics, consisting of new optimised components, produced with a streamlined modern setup. An innovative and fresh analog material, sold under a new brand name that perfectly will match the global re-positioning of Integral Films.

Photo Comics - Comics Photographed/Not Drawn
What is Request Comics?

Request Comics is an online photocomic. Readers send in suggestions for things they would like to see in it, and I make comics out of those suggestions. Or requests, if you will.

What not to request

Requests have a better chance of getting into the comic if they don't require props that I don't have access to. For example, if you requested a photocomic of me smashing an iPhone, I wouldn't make a comic out of it, because I don't have an iPhone and none of my friends trust me with theirs. They are wise not to trust me. If they did, I would smash their iPhones as soon as a random guy on the Internet told me to.

I also won't put extremely objectionable material in the strip, because I don't want to offend myself when I read it. Objectionable material includes lolcats and lolcats-related memes. Maybe some other things too; I'm not sure yet.

Lumix DMC-G1 Intelligent Auto system
Image
The Lumix DMC-G1 incorporates Panasonic's Intelligent Auto (iA) Mode - a popular feature of Panasonic's successful Lunix compact camera range. Intelligent Auto is asignificant evolution from standard auto modes, making complex decisions for the user so they don't have to change settings every time shooting conditions change.

Once iA is selected, the camera activates simultaneous features to optimise the camera's settings. iA Mode incorporates Mega O.I.S (Optical Image Stabiliser), Intelligent ISO Control, Intelligent Scene Selector, Face Detection, Intelligent Exposure and AF Tracking, for beautiful photos every time. This leaves the user free to simply compose the shot and take the photo, with the assurance that the image will be clear and correctly exposed.
Another attractive feature that separates the G1 from conventional digital SLR cameras is the choice of body colours. While traditionalists can choose the standard black body, those who wish to stand out from the crowd may choose either blue or red coloured camera bodies.

"Mama they're taking my Kodachrome away." Image
June 22, 2009
A Tribute to KODACHROME: A Photography Icon

They say all good things in life come to an end. Today we announced that Kodak will retire KODACHROME Film, concluding its 74-year run.

It was a difficult decision, given its rich history. At the end of the day, photographers have told us and showed us they've moved on to newer other Kodak films and/or digital. KODACHROME Film currently represents a fraction of one percent of our film sales. We at Kodak want to celebrate with you the rich history of this storied film. Feel free to share with us your fondest memories of Kodachrome.
