Is this image in my signature too large? I can't exactly shrink it since it is being used on a page, actually it's a logo...

I'm not suiggesting that this is spam, well it is but it is intergrated to cricketmx
Click To Play Online-Scrabble - Click To Play Quizzes
One could argue, but without knowing it is part or in relation to cricket mx I'd say that was spam. But since it is intergrated or related or whatever term you want to use it is allowed. Now how does one intergrate something such as my thingie to cricketmx? I'm not selling it, I'm not marketing, and I'm not using cmx's rescrouces for hosting it. Nor am I promoting my website...it is nothing more than a radio. But the how do I is what I want to know.

"But WR Radio clearly depicts your website." Of course it does, hence the WR, I'm not trying to lure people from another site to mine, If I did I would be a little more blunt about it. The only people that would know the WR means Winrejects would have heard of my website, and put two and two togeather.

But then again, does this site have a radio, i thought it did but i didn't find a link for it. Maybe its gone or maybe it's still there but there's no link. But I will say this, if cmx has a radio I will link it directly from the main page and clearly mark it.

And how many of you have a hpyerlink in your signature? I can say that it is 100% spam doesn't matter, you're promoting something, something you like, something you do, your personal website, or online scabble. It's all spam, but online scabble and something funny isn't a bad thing. I think nesman back in the days of winmxcommunity has a signature "there are 10 kinds of people, those who understand binary....~www.thinkgeek.com" and I didn't mean to single him out, about 500 users had a link on thier signature. Now no one in the world is going to say hey nes you need to remove that link it is spam. A lot of people have a personal website that they link from thier signature, and this is something I've created and love doing. I'm not selling anything. Speaking of advertising, wft is with this banner at the bottom, ads by google. I think we're being biased.

I personally do not have a problem with people linking to their site in their sig. Like you said, you are not actively promoting it. Using a link to your site in your sig is a good way to promote. People will click on it just to see what it is and if they like it they will stay.

Now if you made a post in OT like come check out this site, then yes it is spam. The only suggestion I have is maybe making it a bit smaller but even the size isn't that bad.

it's actually the native size, something by something. Might be too wide, ive seen a few obnoxious ones that took up half the screen.

I agree with Grinch, generally adding a small link in your signature is not regarded as spam. I mean, besides quotes and small images, there's not much else you can do with a forum signature :)

I feel that linking to your personal site, or even a business site in your sig is fine. As far as creating a post about the site goes, as long as you're not selling anything, or even if you are, but you've been around forever, it's mostly ok.

If an outsider were to come in and make a post about their business site, that's spam. It's like the difference between a stranger trying to sell you something at your door and your neighbor telling you she's starting a business.
