I hate to have come to suggesting this, but I think a facebook intergration (i.e. like buttons, share buttons, etc) might be a good way for cricketmx to get more exposure and hopefully gain more users and making the community bigger and better. Not sure if phpBB supports anything of the such, but thought it would be at any rate a good point of discussion...

I agree any networking integration would be a plus if it can be done.

I would tend to think (although I haven't looked), that phpBB has mods out to add the features.

He does, although not as fequent, seems that there isn't quite the traffic here as their used to be, but then again for 8 years of the same group of people, I'd say it's still going well. I think porting through facebook may help get some more traffic and some new users (that aren't bots) to the community. Oh the good ole days of WinMX. You know I don't even do p2p anymore, too risky. I got busted twice since 2005, and rather not have to go to court, pay fines, it's just not like it used to be...

I'm here Grinch :)

I don't use Facebook myself, but I'm happy to try it if it can make life easier for people? :)
Layzie, were you thinking something along the lines of what is at phpBB.com - https://www.phpbb.com/community/index.php - in the top right corner?
But instead of just links to Facebook and Twitter, maybe having the actual Like / Tweet buttons?
There's currently a lot of empty orange space to the right of the header here at CMX so I think that could be easily added.

What they have done is created a Facebook page for phpBB. I'm thinking along the line of having a like and share button that would share a post or topic to Facebook that links back to here. No so much that it will make life easier, but a new avenue to capture a large audience. The more that people like and share, the more exposure cricketMX has out on the internet. Just a thought, I think it would be great to get this site thriving like it did back in the 2004-2007 era.

The like and share you mention Lazy is one idea. But what if the post you wanted to openly share was in is a "registered user" section? If that were the case how do they view it? How do you entice the traffic drawn want to become a registered member to either post a comment, or read more of the forum. Getting a traffic audience of the billion users of Facebook is great but getting those users to post here instead of were the link originated is another. Don't get me wrong I want to see it happen. We the members already here would have to step up our game so to speak. One by posting subjects "that matter" here on CMX to link to another social network that would possibly make the initial draw.

If we can make the link to the traffic then? Let someone sign in or post through their other account like Facebook, Twitter, reddit, etc.

Sorry just rambling.......
