I rarely use WinMX anymore except to get music and to go to teh Help room. Last night I fired up WinMX to go chat and help and I started getting this error saying that my temp file was corrupt run chkdsk. I ran chkdsk and it found and deleted corrupt files. But the error kept returning. So I shut down WinMX and the error stopped. Ran chkdsk again and went about my business, no more errors. So as a test I fired up WinMX again and started receiving the error immediately, so I shut it down. What is this caused by? Anyone have a cure? I was thinking about completely removing WinMX and reinstalling but wanted to get a second opinion before I start. Like I said I don't use WinMX much so it isn't that important but I would still like to know what is causing the problem.
