Here is something interesting that just came up in discussion yesterday. Avast anti-virus has decided that winmx2.6 is adware and sends a message it's a virus when you go to start it up. Then with a reboot, winmx2.6 is deleted from your machine.
I have no details on more... just three people trying to figure out what to do other than switch clients or av programs.

It's a false positive result I have had the same thing happen with WinMx v 3.54 , click 'No Action' in the Avast! warning pop up message.

thanks pete... don't use avast myself... all i could contribute to the solution was install a different antivirus
