If you run Kubuntu you'll have KTorrent installed by default. Also, for those looking for a Linux distro to try for the first time, Kubuntu provides a pretty familiar environment.

It's also in mandriva - if you select internet or multimedia as the type of station when you install the OS. Anyways... its on the DVD so you can always add it if you don't get it installed automatically.

It may have been fixed, but I run into issues with KTorrent 2.1.4 where it seems to hang after any error. If it times out it will wait days for me to find out and click OK before it continues downloading.

I've been using a console program called btdownload-curses

I check it remotely through ssh, which is much faster than vnc when all of your bandwidth is going to a torrent.

nesman, they have a new beta version out if you want to try it.
KTorrent 3.0beta1 can be found on the downloads page at the bottom of the page.
I'll be posting about the final release when it's out of beta testing on here.

Both KT 2.2.5 and 3.0rc1 have been released. 2.2.5 is the next bugfix release for the 2.2 series, it contains all the bugfixes done in the last month since the 2.2.4 release.

3.0rc1 is the next step on the way to the final 3.0 release, it should be a lot better and more stable then the beta release. And it should be ready for day to day use.

Download them here.
