These are a countdown of the top 10 moments from the past 10 years that will go down in TV history. In some cases it will be because of the sheer magnitude of the event, the impact it has had on television, or the entertainment value it has given us.

Not all of the events are good moments, but the...

Apple's yearly music event was held on September 9th, marking the third last time this century when we can claim a date like 09-09-09. But it looks like Apple is running out of ideas, with some relatively mundane changes to the iPod product line after a couple of years which saw fantastic innovation...

Some more TV moments that I recall. Unfortunately, most are not happy events.
I have chosen not to double up on any of yours Battye.

2002 - The first Bali bombing (there was another in 2005)
2003 - Avian Bird Flu H5N1 outbreak
2003 - The War In Iraq. A very memorable moment as Iraq's Information Minister says "there is no invasion."
........On TV the world is watching as US tanks roll up the street behind him.
2004 - The Madrid train bombing
2004 - The Danish Royal Wedding (because this list needs a little happiness)
2004 - The Asian Boxing Day tsunami (up to 250,000 people lost, it still shocks me)
2005 - The London train bombing
2005 - A Cricket moment here. England won the Ashes...or Australia lost the Ashes, for the first time in 16 years.
2009 - Swine Flu outbreak in Mexico
2009 - Lance Armstrong's comeback to The Tour de France

A nice quote I found while checking dates.

I am never more content than when I am lost within the pages of a Diana Gabaldon book. Time travel excites my imagination. I know what I will do if I come across a circle of standing stones. I have penicillin with me at all times...it just keeps on expiring while I wait for my trip back to the 1700s...

Today is a big day relative to this article:

1. Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol, sequel to The Da Vinci Code (which followed Angel's and Demons)
...has its world-wide release today.

2. And just look at Google getting into crop circles!

That's a good list moongirl :)
I was even considering putting the Ashes 2005 on to my list, but decided against it because there were probably plenty of other sporting events (soccer, baseball, US football, etc) which I don't know about. It looks like my Sarah Palin / Tina Fey point might have been on the money, Tina Fey won an Emmy for those performances... I think it will be a comedy impersonation people will be talking about for a long time :)

Cassette tape sales have been in decline since the format peaked in 1989 when 83 million tapes were sold in Britain alone. I was thinking about this recently, and came to the conclusion that while tapes are all but obselete there still may be a place for a tape machine... in the car. Intrigued? Read...

I haven't dealt with Javascript too much, and when I do I normally just use tutorial examples from other websites. But recently the examples I found online just didn't cut it, and for the first time I actually had to mess with the Javascript myself.

I am going to explain and give an example of two ...

For this article I have looked at the top songs from each year of this decade. I have made a selection based on my most played song from that year in my iTunes library, while I have used the Grammy Awards "Record of The Year" as a mainstream indication of the previous years best song.

Her...

NBC are in trouble, there is no denying that. They are in a pit about 40 billion times larger than the one featured in their struggling sitcom "Parks and Recreation". Of the big 4 networks, the ***** is dead last by some margin. Fortunately for NBC, comedy has traditionally been their fo...

Tata Young made her debut performance in Australia tonight at the One Movement music festival on the Esplanade in Perth, Western Australia.

I have recorded several of the songs live and uploaded them to YouTube, you can find the links throughout the article.

Her set included Dhoom Dhoom, Ready For...

This is another one of those rare reviews by an Australian fan about Thai pop sensation Tata Young. "Ready for Love" is Tata Young's third English album, and has a distinctly different feel to her two previous English language efforts.

"I Believe" was a true pop album while &quo...

I'm going to half to agree to a lot of them, however, the Obama inaguration - in my opinion - wasn't a very big thing (least not for me - but thenagian its pretty far from my "home"). A lot of it is true though. I'll have to say I agree with the number 1 especially. I remember being glued to the telly that day, infact, it was a really hot day here. Like low 30s (which is very uncommon). And everyone sat inside watching the news all day.

I have a similar question though, whats your favorite tv shows? (yes i know im spamming - battye told me i could tho - thanks!) vote on http://tvne.ws/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=5 :-)

For a long time I have been looking for a way to set up an online radio station for my own personal use - I wanted to be able to set up a stream that would broadcast whatever content was being entered through my computers line-in / microphone input. After many failed attempts, I sat down recently wi...

Paul was born in Ottawa, Canada on July 30, 1941, the first of three children to Andrew and Camelia Anka, hard working owners of the La Conda Restaurant. By age 11 Paul was performing professionally, primarily doing impressions of popular singers of the day, like Johnnie Ray.
After working with a s...
