I have jumped back on Winmx(kind of) but only to pop in some chat rooms with friends. I got chat channels to load again but searching is still a mess, but i'm not downloading anymore.

Has anything been done to fix things and get things 'normal' for a new version or is this just the death of winmx?

Let it go. I loved WinMx and had it running 24/7 and was always on during my free time. But, it is horrible now.
